In May 2013, the Swiss Government launched an official Twitter account devoted entirely to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Updated frequently, the account is a valuable way to keep followers up to date about SDG-related policies, events and campaigns, both in Switzerland and around the world. Alongside Twitter, the Swiss government also manages a Facebook page and website dedicated to the 2030 Agenda.
Building ownership for the SDGs across government and stakeholder groups is a high priority for Switzerland, according to the country’s Report to the 2016 UN High Level Political Forum (see page 10).
Other countries with official government Twitter accounts linked with the SDGs include Egypt, Guatemala and Nigeria.
