Development banks are key players in global sustainable development. So what are their main communication challenges? And how do they communicate about their work, demonstrate results and engage stakeholders?
Based on conversations with bank communicators, the OECD DevCom Network has identified 5 communications priorities for banks ahead of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, Spain, in 2025.
It has also examined the communications of both multilateral and bilateral development banks. Check out the two decks below:
- Deck 1 compiles 31 public development banks profiles. It includes links to their homepages, results reports, and key facts about their social media presence.
- Deck 2 identifies 7 ways for multilateral development banks to communicate, with examples. We have also taken a close look at multilateral banks’ branding (logos and taglines) and social media use (corporate and leadership).
Deck 1 – How public development banks brand, report results and message on social media
Deck 2 – Overview: how multilateral development banks communicate about their work
This research was compiled for the 2nd Annual Workshop of Development Finance Communicators, co-hosted by OECD DevCom and the KfW Development Bank on 21 March 2025.
