Argentina’s online platform on the SDGs provides a complete look at the country’s strategies, actions and progress towards the goals. It is visually appealing, well organised and updated regularly.
Visitors can find an introduction to the SDGs, an explanation of how the goals link to national government priorities and an overview of the institutional and regulatory framework for the 2030 Agenda.
Thanks to an interactive map, citizens can compare progress towards specific targets across regions. Visitors will also find a large selection of videos and a link to a special SDG issue of the Revista Ecosistema magazine.
For the Government of Argentina, raising awareness about the SDGs is a priority, and its 2017 Voluntary National Review to the UN describes a large range of activities designed to promote the goals (see page 63). Citizens can engage on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
Several activities have helped reach young people, including presentations of the SDGs at the 2016 Lollapalooza festival and Tecnópolis Campus Parties. The Varkey Foundation’s Generation Z: Global Citizenship Survey shows that 73% of young Argentineans think that making a wider contribution to society is important; 32% of them say that the need more knowledge on how to get involved and make a difference.
